WG Independence and Efficiency
Description
National administrative courts, given the nature of the cases they adjudicate, do not only play a key role for the protection of individual rights and the legal framework of the State - they have also been the first concerned by the implementation of both the law of the European Union and the European Convention on Human Rights. In return, the administrative judge's office has been deeply transformed by European law.
Independent and efficient administrative courts are therefore the necessary pillars of the European legal order and the Rule of law.
The Working Group Independence and Efficiency adresses all administrative judges, especially those interested in the functioning administrative justice systems, its interactions with European law, and professional rules.
The yearly seminar of the WG is usually organised at the same place and location as the General assembly's meeting.
