WG Asylum and Immigration
Description
Foreigners are, vis-à-vis the State authorities, in a unilateral relationship which is quintessentially from an administrative law nature. Asylum and Migration make a large part of the activity of administrative courts throughout Europe.
Asylum law and Migration law are largely shaped by European law, especially the case-law of both the Court of Justice of the European Union and the European Court of Human Rights. However, national courts sometimes still interpret and apply European law differently in these areas.
The Working Group Asylum and Immigration provides a forum at its annual meeting to learn about current developments in asylum and migration law and to exchange views with practitioners from across Europe working in these areas of law.
Speakers include national administrative judges, but also from the CJEU and the ECtHR, as well as experts from the EUAA, UNHCR, ODIHR and others.
