AEAJ WG Planning and Environment seminar

The AEAJ Working Group on Environmental
Law held its annual seminar on 18–19 September 2025 in Würzburg,
generously hosted by the Administrative Court of Würzburg. The
seminar, titled “No Plan is Perfect: Urban and Environmental
Planning under Judicial Review” brought together 26 participants
from Austria, Estonia, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Latvia,
Lithuania, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and the United States of America.
Key topics included recent developments
in EU Environmental law and CJEU case-law, national perspectives on
planning disputes, trends and impacts of climate litigation, and
broader discussions on the role of Environmental law in protecting
nature.
The programme combined legal
discussions with social activities, including a group dinner, a visit
to Würzburg historic center and a boat trip to Veitshöchheim
and its Rococo Garden.
